aro

How it works

You do the parenting.
Aro does the remembering.

A few taps a day. Aro turns them into evidence, deadlines and next steps.

These are screens from Aro, shown with a made-up child called Jude.

“I know something’s not right, but I can’t prove it.”

One tap at the school gate.

How is your child this morning? Tap a number from calm to overwhelmed and it’s saved, dated and timed. Add a note if you’ve got the energy. If you haven’t, that’s fine too.

  • Missed a day? Go back and fill in Monday morning later.
  • Logs sleep, eating and what happened at school in the same quick way.
  • Never nags you. No streaks, no guilt.

Example screen: asking how Jude is this morning, with five buttons from calm to overwhelmed. Struggling is chosen and Aro replies that it’s saved.

“Every morning feels hard, but is it?”

Aro spots the pattern for you.

You’re too close to it, and too tired. Aro looks across the week and gently tells you what it’s noticing, with the next step ready to go.

  • Hard mornings, meltdowns after school, poor sleep, being sent home.
  • Calmer at weekends than on school days? That’s evidence, and Aro points it out.
  • One tap writes to school about it, with the dates filled in.

Example screen: a note saying Jude has found mornings hard on four of the last five days, suggesting a soft start, with a button to ask school about support. Below it, a week grid of coloured check-ins.

“They said they’d do it. When was that?”

Who said what, and when.

Every email, phone call and meeting, kept in date order, with anything promised pulled out and tracked. When a promise slips, Aro tells you, and offers to chase it.

  • Bring in emails from school, the council or the NHS without retyping them.
  • Your own emails are kept word for word, because your words matter.
  • Export a clean chronology for a meeting, a complaint or a tribunal.

Example screen: a paper trail in date order under month headings. A September meeting with the SENCo shows an overdue promise to send an OT referral, and a button to write a friendly chaser.

“How long do they actually have?”

The legal deadlines, worked out for you.

Put in the date you asked for an EHC needs assessment and Aro works out every deadline the council has to meet. It tells you when one is coming up, and when one has been missed.

  • 6, 16 and 20-week deadlines, draft plan comments and appeal time limits.
  • A checker that reads a draft EHCP and flags vague wording like “access to” or “opportunities for”.
  • When the council is late, the chaser email is already written.

Example screen: nine days until the council must decide whether to assess Jude, and a timeline of the 20-week EHCP process with each deadline date.

“I haven’t got the words left.”

The email, written for you.

Choose what you need to say. Aro drafts it from what’s already in your diary and paper trail: clear, calm, factual and firm where it needs to be. You read it, change anything, and send.

  • Explaining an absence, asking for support, requesting a meeting, chasing a deadline.
  • Each letter is about one child only, never mixed up with a sibling.
  • Step-by-step guides for hard moments, like being sent home or an attendance letter.

Example screen: an email to the SENCo asking for support, drafted from the week’s check-ins, with a button to open it in your email app.

“I always forget what I meant to say.”

Walk into every meeting ready.

Before: an agenda built from what’s been happening. During: a simple place for notes. After: a follow-up email confirming what was agreed, so it’s in writing.

  • A one-page profile of your child to share: what’s hard, what helps, what not to do.
  • Local and national contacts for your area, all in one place.

Example screen: a suggested agenda for a review meeting, built from recent check-ins and an overdue promise, with a button to send a follow-up email afterwards.

Is this what you need?

I’m looking for SEN parents to try Aro first and help shape it. It’s free while we test.
